Powers of Mobility

Hi everyone. Looking at Mobile devices today to get work done. I have been using Mobile devices for a lot work e.g. tablets and smartphones, for over 2 years now. There is something wonderful in mobility while doing work, even when standing anywhere.

Say you are out waiting for someone to arrive for lunch, or out on the go and an idea springs to mind. While being away from my main device for creation, I can use my painting app on the smart phone. I tested ideas for a greeting card background, while standing on the bus just the other day.

When standing in the office having a discussion with a few people e.g. on next steps to take on a project, resting a light tablet on my palm, I can use touchscreen one-handed to get my work done, even make changes in design work. One main advantage is this work gets done while the ideas are being discussed and fresh in our minds. From my experience, things do not get forgotten before completing the work/changes later at your desk or when you get back to the office from a client.

Technology these days really can help. If away from my main device, being able to try ideas on the spot when thought of on the go, is something that couldn't be done before for me.

Since having been doing this for over 2 years, when not being able to do work while standing and on the go, feels limiting. This can even apply to home projects and shopping for example.
